一、 课程的性质、类型、目的和任务

大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分,大学英语课程是非英语专业本科生的一门必修的基础课程。大学英语是以外语教学理论为指导,以英语语言知识与应用技能、跨文化交际和学习策略为主要内容,并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。

本大纲适用于参加普通高考入学的非英语专业的学生。学生入学时一般已掌握基本英语知识(语音和语法),掌握英语单词3500个,有一定的听、说、读、写、译等基本语言能力。

本课程的教学目的是经过248学时的教学,培养学生的英语综合应用能力,使学生掌握一定的英语知识和技能,具有一定的听、说、读、写、译的能力,从而能借助词典阅读和翻译英语资料,能进行简单的口头和书面交流,为今后进一步提高英语的交际能力打下基础。使他们在今后学习、工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行交际,同时增强其自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。

二、 本课程与其它课程的联系与分工

大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分,大学英语课程是大学生的一门必修的基础课程。大学英语是以外语教学理论为指导,以英语语言知识与应用技能、跨文化交际和学习策略为主要内容,并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。

本课程宜从一年级第一学期开始,共四学期,以确保学生具备学习高级英语及专业英语课程所需要的基础。

三、教学内容及课程的基本要求

本课程在加强英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时,重在培养学生使用英语进行交际的能力。采用启发式,开放式的课堂教学,调动学生的学习兴趣和积极性。

通过学习,学生应达到以下要求:

词汇

掌握的词汇量应达到约7675个单词和以及由这些单词构成的常用1870个词组,要求能正确拼写及英汉互译,并要求学生能够在认知的基础上在口头和书面表达两个方面熟练运用的词汇。

语法

掌握基本的英语语法规则,能正确运用听、说、读、写、译的基本知识。

听力

能听懂英语授课,运用基本的听力技巧,能听懂日常英语谈话和一般性题材的讲座,能听懂语速较慢(每分钟130 ~150词)的英语广播和电视节目,以及涉外业务中使用的结构简单、发音清楚、语速较慢(每分钟120词左右)的英语材料,能掌握其中心大意,抓住要点,并正确理解。

口语

能在学习过程中用英语交流,并能就某一主题进行讨论,能就日常话题用英语进行交谈,能经准备后就所熟悉的话题作简短发言,表达比较清楚,语音、语调基本正确。能在交谈中使用基本的会话策略。

阅读

能基本读懂一般性题材的英文文章,阅读速度达到每分钟70词。在快速阅读篇幅较长、难度略低的材料时,阅读速度达到每分钟100词。能就阅读材料进行略读和寻读。能借助词典阅读本专业的英语教材和题材熟悉的英文报刊文章,掌握中心大意,理解主要事实和有关细节。能读懂工作、生活中常见的应用文体的材料。能在阅读中使用有效的阅读方法。

写作

能就一般性题材,能完成一般性写作任务,能描述个人经历、观感、情感和发生的事件等,半小时内写出约120个单词(四级)或者150个单词(六级)的作文,能够写作出英语应用文,如填写表格与单据,写简历、通知、信函等,文句基本正确,无严重的语法错误,格式恰当,表达清楚得体,内容基本完整,中心思想明确,用词恰当,语意连贯。能掌握基本的写作技能。

翻译

能借助词典正确地将中等难度的一般题材和一般业务的文字材料英汉互译,英汉译速为每小时约300个英语单词,汉英译速为每小时约250个汉字。译文基本准确,无重大的理解和语言表达错误。

《新视野大学英语》(第一册)

教学内容及教学基本要求:

通过教学,使学生不仅把握词汇学习规律,并在原有词汇的基础上将词汇量增加到4500;进一步巩固和加深基本语法知识;能够顺利阅读语言难度一般的文章,掌握文章的中心大意并对文章进行一定的分析,推理和判断;能在阅读难度与课文相当的书面材料时正确回答问题。

1) The word “mind” is usually found in questions and negative sentences and can be followed by an if-clause or an -ing structure.

2) The word “no” is a determiner. It can be used before singular nouns or plural nouns at the beginning of a sentence, meaning “not a” or “not any”.

2. Text Structure Analysis

One of the basic structures of writing that we are familiar with is going from something general to something more specific: specific details, specific examples and specific reasons, etc. in this passage, attention should be paid to the opposite: going from specific details to a general statement.

平时成绩主要由出勤率、课堂提问的回答情况,作业情况,口语考试等决定,期末成绩以闭卷笔试成绩决定,总评成绩由两部分成绩按一定比例组合而得。
