一、课程的性质、类别、目的和任务

基础大学英语课程是大学生的一门必修的公共课程。基础大学英语是以外语教学理论为指导,以英语语言知识与应用技能、跨文化交际和学习策略为主要内容,并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。基础大学英语的教学模式应有利于学生个性化学习方法的形成和学生自主学习能力的发展,应以现代信息技术、特别是网络技术为支撑,使大学英语教学朝着个性化学习、不受时间和地点限制的学习、主动式的学习方向发展,应体现英语教学的实用性、文化性和趣味性相融合的原则,应能充分调动教师和学生两个方面的积极性,确立学生在英语教学中的主体地位。本课程坚持“学以至用”的原则,通过篇章的讲解分析、大量的读写训练,使学生扩大词汇量并熟悉英语常用句型,同时逐步提高语篇阅读理解能力,进而了解和学习英语不同文体的表达方式和写作特点,为今后进一步学习专业英语,提高英语的交际能力打下良好的语言基础.大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力,同时增强其自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,以适应我国社会发展和国际交流的需要。

二、本课程与其它课程的联系与分工

本课程从大一第一学期开始,共四个学期。能确保学生在进入大学之后能把英语作为学习工具上一个台阶并熟练掌握。为学习英文原版教材和出国学习打下良好基础。

三、教学内容及教学基本要求

基础大学英语以实现大纲规定的大学英语教学为目的,有利于学生个性化学习方法的形成和学生自主学习能力的发展,应以现代信息技术、特别是网络技术为支撑,使大学英语教学朝着个性化学习、不受时间和地点限制的学习、主动式的学习方向发展,应体现英语教学的实用性、文化性和趣味性相融合的原则,应能充分调动教师和学生两个方面的积极性,确立学生在英语教学中的主体地位。

通过学习,学生达到以下要求:

词汇:认知词汇为3500个英语单词(包括入学时要求掌握的2000个单词)以及常用词组,对其中2200个左右的单词能够正确拼写及运用。

语法

掌握基本的英语语法规则,能够正确运用在听、说、读、写、译的基本知识。

第一学期:《21世纪大学英语读写教程》(第一册)

教学内容及教学基本要求

《21世纪大学英语读写教程第一册》全书共八个单元,融精、泛读于一体,围绕精读课文和课后练习重点培养学生的读、写、译的能力。本册课文中共出现生词960个,其中四级词470个,六级词130个,常用的固定搭配、短语、习语、成语等约170个。Text A八篇的总阅读量约8000词。
