适用对象:本科各专业第一学期后通过英语四级考试的学生

一、课程的性质、类型、目的和任务

本大纲适用于参加普通高考入学的非英语专业的学生。学生入学时应达到大学英语课程教学要求中的较高要求,掌握英语单词4500个,有较高的听、说、读、写、译的基本语言能力。

本课程的教学目的是经过176左右学时的教学,使学生掌握高级英语知识和技能,具有高水平的听、说、读、写、译的能力,从而能借助词典阅读和翻译有一定难度的英语资料,能进行一般或专业性的口头和书面交流,为今后进入工作领域应用英语进行交际或深入专业研究打下基础。

二、本课程与相关课程的联系

本课程宜从一年级第二学期开始,共三学期,以确保学生具备学习专业英语课程所需要的基础。

三、教学内容及课程的基本要求

本课程旨在加强英语语言高级知识和高级技能训练,重在培养学生应用英语进行日常或工作交流的能力,以及应用英语进行一定的专业探索。采用开放式的课堂教学,调动学生的学习兴趣和积极性。

通过学习,学生应达到以下要求:

词汇

认识6500个英语单词(包括入学时要求掌握的4500个单词)以及由这些单词构成的常用词组,对其中2500个左右的单词能正确拼写,英汉互译。学生还应结合专业英语学习,认识1200 个专业英语词汇。

语法

掌握高级英语语法规则,能正确运用听、说、读、写、译的基本知识。

听力

听懂内容稍长的对话、短文等,并在其结构较为复杂、观点较为隐含时也能理解要点, 能基本听懂英语国家的广播电视节目。

口语

能就一般或专业性话题较为流利、准确地进行对话或讨论,能用简练的语言概括内容较长、语言稍难的文本或讲话。

阅读

能读懂有一定难度的文章,理解其含义, 能借助词典阅读英语原版教材和英语国家报刊杂志上的文章。阅读速度高于每分钟120词。

写作

能就一般性题材比较自如地表达个人的观点,做到文章结构清晰、内容丰富、逻辑性强。能在半小时内写出约200个单词的说明文或议论文, 内容完整,文理通顺,思想表达清楚。

翻译

能借助词典翻译英语国家报刊上有一定难度的科普、文化、评论等文章, 能翻译反映中国国情或文化的介绍性文章。英汉译速为每小时400英语单词,汉英译速为每小时350个汉字,译文内容准确,基本无误译现象,文字通顺、达意,语言错误较少。

《新视野大学英语》(第二册)

教学内容及教学基本要求:

通过教学,使学生在EGP(普通用途英语)方面词汇量增加到5000;进一步巩固和加深基本语法知识,不仅熟悉课文中出现的句型,而且能够灵活应用;顺利阅读语言难度一般的文章,利用上下文猜测词义、掌握文章的中心大意并对文章进行一定的分析,推理和判断;能在阅读难度与课文相当的书面材料时做笔记,回答问题,写提纲。在ESP(特殊用途英语)方面掌握词汇量达到400左右。

One of the basic structures of writing that we are familiar with is going from something general to something more specific: specific details, specific examples and specific reasons, etc. in this passage, attention should be paid to the opposite: going from specific details to a general statement.

五、课程考核方式及要求

以笔试和课堂提问形式加以考核。平时成绩主要由出勤率、课堂提问的回答情况,作业情况等决定,期末成绩以闭卷笔试成绩决定,总评成绩由两部分成绩按一定比例组合而得。
